Rotary International has partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization and UNICEF to reduce polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since 1979. Rotarians have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children. We are close to totally eradicating this crippling disease. Today, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan are the only countries where polio remains endemic.
Locally, the Rotary Club of Beaverton raises funds to support this effort.
