PETS 2024

Damon Gentry just returned from PETS 2024 in SeaTac, WA. The 3-day training event was packed with plenty of informative training sessions and quality speakers.

As with any new PETS attendee, Damon is returning to our club with enthusiasm and lots of ideas. Be prepared for changes in our 2024-2025 year.

Key speakers of the event included Dean Rohrs, Michael Caruso, and Jennifer Jones. The PETS 2024 team did a fantastic job of lining up not just incredible speakers, but great trainers as well.

Rebuilding Together Project

Rebuilding Together Project – Fact Sheet

Date/Time: April 29, 2023, 9am

Location: 6120 SW 124th #7, Beaverton, OR 97008

Parking: Nexus Church – Parking Lot – There is not enough parking at the  mobile home park. The location is across Hall from the church. You  can go down to Sabin and take a left on 124th and then go into the  Glen Tualatin Mobile Park (#7 is first row and will be on the road on  your immediate right when you enter – not that there will also be a  crew at #5).

Task: We will prep and then paint the mobile home and any out buildings  (which I didn’t see when I was there). We will start by prepping the  house and then we will put on two points of paint.

Subtask: We will assign teams to each wall for prep and painting. If one team  is faster, they will help the other teams. We also will have individuals  collecting release forms, working at the pouring station, working the  clean up station.

Bring: Wear paint clothes with the ability to strip off layers as it gets hotter  (temperature high is 79).

Project Time: Officially Rebuilding Together is saying 9am to 3pm. With the size of  the group we have, we are hoping to get done sooner. In the past,  we would get down by noon or 1pm. We do have a lunch break at  noon. Make sure you bring water since it will be warm. Hats would  probably be good and Sun Screen (believe it or not).

2022 Beaverton Sun Run

The 2022 Beaverton Sun run was a success with over 75 runners signed up for the event.  We had 30 volunteers helping out with registration, course guides, and water bearers before, during, and after the race.

We are happy to have been a part of this event in which we partnered with the city of Beaverton and the Beaverton Police Department.
